John Cena is a Bad, Bad Man

So its finally happened. John Cena (current WWE Champion over on Smackdown) has a new album coming out, and it releases next week. This past week they debuted his new music video, and I have to say, its kind of catchy! So click the link, check out his new single and post your thoughts! (You even get to see Gary Coleman guest star in the video!)

Wrestlemania Goes Hollywood!

With Wrestlemania coming up this Sunday (4/3, at 7pm) I figured I'd write up a summary of the card and what to expect. This is so when you hear everyone else talking about Wrestlemania, you can follow their conversations and even contribute something intelligent!

Triple H vs Batista for the World Title
This has been building up for months. Batista, former member of Triple H's group Evolution, finally steps up and goes after the belt. He's got good momentum coming into this and it should be an exciting event. Unfortunately, Batista has yet to show he can perform at a main event level, so hopefully he can step up and do his end.
Prediction: Batista. He has too much momentum coming into this to lose.

JBL vs John Cena for the WWE Championship
I cant say I follow Smackdown as much as Raw, so I don't know as much about this one. I do know that JBL has been champion for a ridiculous amount of time (since last Summer), and with his "Cabinet", has been pretty unstoppable.
Prediction: JBL retains, but Cena will win the belt sometime down the road.

Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle
This is one of 2 interpromotional matches, with Michaels being from RAW and Angle being from Smackdown. Michaels eliminated Angle from the Royal Rumble a few months back and Angle has been angry ever since. This is also the first time in a while we're getting a real match out of Angle, as his neck is pretty screwed up.
Prediction: Angle. He doesn't wrestle big matches often, so I expect him to win when he actually does.

The Undertaker vs Randy Orton

This is the other interpromotional match, with the undefeated (12-0) Undertaker taking on the "Legend Killer" Randy Orton. It seemed like neither had any good feuds going into Wrestlemania, so they just threw this together. Undertaker did have a really nice video package play last week of all his wins at Wrestlemanias thus far.
Prediction: Undertaker wins. I cant see him losing to someone like Randy Orton after beating so many other greats at past Wrestlemanias.

Money in the Bank: 6 Man Ladder Match (Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Shelton Benjamin, Christian, Edge, Kane)
This is a ladder match for a contract for a title shot at any point in the next year. Ladder matches have traditionally been a lot of fun to watch, and most of these contestants have been in really good ladder matches in the past. Expect this one to be a lot of fun.
Prediction: Edge. As much as I hate him, he has been getting into the main event more lately, and this is probably the way he's going to get his next title shot.

Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Geurrero
These two are the current Smackdown tag team champions, and Eddie challenged Rey to a match. At this point, they are both "faces" (good guys), but I expect Eddie to go back to his old ways and turn on Rey. These two are both great wrestlers that are exciting to watch, so expect a lot of fun, high flying spots.
Prediction: Eddie cheats for the win.

Other Stuff:
Big Show vs Akebono in a sumo match: I've never seen Akebono wrestle or Big Show sumo wrestle, and I doubt this will be more than a 5 minute bathroom break.
Trish Stratus vs Christy Hemme for the Womens Championship: I hate Christy even though I voted for her, and she definately does not deserve the women's title. I cant imagine that she can wrestle.
Stone Cold on Pipers Pit: His big return, but dont expect a match. Stone Cold is too injured to wrestle a match, so expect a heel to come in and get a stunner.

Post your own predictions!

Japanese Girls Watch Wrestling!

So last week, RAW was taped in Japan for the first time ever. Check out this footage from the show! After Randy Orton gets a little hurt during his match (probably another "concussion") look at the reaction in the crowd! Look who is in the crowd! Actual females! Attractive females! Who are all dressed up with make-up and jewelry and everything. Those japanese girls sure know how to show proper respect to wrestling. If only the crowd at american WWE shows was like this...

Daniel Puder Wins!

Since nobody really watches Smackdown, so it doesn't matter if I spoil it for you, I will go ahead and do so. Daniel Puder won the Tough Enough contest at last night's Smackdown tapings. It was also announced that he would be the first entrant into the Royal Rumble! This is exciting news as I am not a fan of "the Miz", who looks to be about the size of Spike Dudley. We will have to wait and see whether all the Tough Enough training has paid off though. It remains to be seen whether Puder can actually wrestle, since they have yet to show them doing any actual wrestling in the ring. Lets hope Puder surprises us at the Rumble and pulls off a decent showing!

Jericho's Big Night! And Vote for Daniel Puder!

So it turned out that on Monday night, Vince McMahon came out and declared that there would be no Battle Royal for the title. Instead the winner would go on to face HHH for the championship match. And he even threw some insults in the way of Steven Richards (who has not been doing well lately, especially after a really bad and boring loss to Tyson Tomko a few PPVs ago). Well Benoit and Edge would go on to replicate the whole Bret Hart/Lex Luger tie of the Royal Rumble back in '94, and go on to face HHH in a triple thread champion ship match at the end of the night. Steven Richards didnt do that badly for himself, making it towards the end of the Battle Royal match. Of course at the end, the triple threat was also a tie and there was no resolution to the whole thing.

Well, I dont have so much of a problem of McMahon not making it a Battle Royal for the championship. You knew it would probably come down to these three guys (Edge, Benoit and HHH) at the end anyway, so whether you get it at the end of the Battle Royal, or as a separate main event doesnt really matter. However, I am tired of all three of them. Who else thinks that even though Benoit can wrestle better than most anyone, he lacks the charisma for really interesting TV? And that Edge was a whole lot more fun to watch back in his goofy RECK days when he made fun of Kurt? And HHH has just had the title for too long?

Well the good news is this coming Monday, its finally time for Jericho to step up and be GM. He hasnt been in the main event picture in a while (a few years I think since he was the first undisputed champion) but if Maven can get himself a title shot and come close to winning, so can Jericho. And I think Jericho will make Monday's RAW a lot of fun. He's got the charisma, the sense of humor, and the wrestling to make a good run for the title.

And of course this week we saw Daniel Puder stay in the Tough Enough competition. They're advertising a shoot boxing match for the next PPV between the final 2 Tough Enough contestants, so head over to the Tough Enough website and vote for Daniel Puder again! If he can make it to the next round, I'm sure he will demolish whoever else is put in a shoot fight with him. And thats something I want to see.

Randy Orton's Big GM Day and Keep Voting Daniel Puder!

This coming Monday is finally Randy Orton's big day as GM! Back 2 weeks ago when his team won the Survivor Series, everyone won a change to be GM for a day. First week, Maven booked himself a title shot, but couldn't get the job done even with Benoit and Jericho cheating for him like crazy. Second week, Benoit get screwed by HHH, who pretended to be too hurt to wrestle. Next week, Orton's plans unfold as there is a huge battle royal championship match! 20+ men in the ring, last one over the top rope gets the belt!

And also, Dan Puder continues to do well. He did the best in the make-out-with-the-80-year-old-lady contest, came closest to winning last weeks contest, and actually won this week's arm wrestling contest! He beat out guys twice as big as he is. I guess you dont need to be huge to be strong. So head over to the WWE website and vote for Daniel Puder!

Vote Daniel Puder!

So in the latest season of Tough Enough, the WWE has decided to just merge the show with its Thursday night show, Smackdown. Things got interesting, however, when during last weeks show, Kurt Angle (1996 Olympic gold medalist for wrestling) challenged any of them to step up and fight him in the ring (for real). So Daniel Puder, former UFC fighter stepped up and put Angle in some sort of submission hold. However, while he was in the submission, Angle managed to pin Puder for the win. But, in hopes of some sort of rematch, I encourage all of you to go over to the WWE Tough Enough page and vote for Dan Puder!

Has the WWE gone too far?

Now I love the WWE as much as the next guy, but sometimes they do things that are a little too garish or gaudy. Who remembers guys like "Beaver Cleavage" and "Mantaur"? Unfortunately this weekend, Randy Orton's character took a turn for the worse and got a bit too tacky for my taste...
