Dusting off the old blog because Digg has a bug
I decided to check today to see what results came up when I googled myself, and I was surprised to see that a blog post I added to Digg over two years ago was number 3. I clicked on the link to digg to check it out again and an odd thing occurred. The article was correctly tagged as occuring 2 and a half years ago, but the comments were tagged as being posted on 10/12/2007. If I recall correctly, the comments should have been all posted around December 2005.
While trying to post about this, I found another annoying "feature" with digg, You can't post a link to another digg page. I guess they don't ever expect the digg pages themselves to be news.

Sorry for the inactivity
Sorry for the inactivity lately across the board, I have been out of commission due to surgery and hope to be back in full force in a few days. Also in the coming weeks I plan to redesign the heck out of this site. Because so much of my work is spread across several sites now, i hope to make this site a central portal for all of that junk.
So if you have any comments or suggestions before this process begins, let me know.

Announcing SmartphoneSmarts.com

So I've recently plunged into the smartphone world and am finding it is still wild and confusing out there. To help quell my misunderstandings and in a desperate attempt to organize and digest everything out there I have launched SmartphoneSmarts.com .
The Target audience is the non-techy. This is because I think this is quickly becoming the target audience for the PDA/Smartphone market now. Read more about it on my Inaugural Post at SmartphoneSmarts

Another Snubster Update
So I've been pretty busy and haven't been able to update this blog or Snubster much, but Snubster seems to be getting pretty popular. I have the day off tomorrow, so I was thinking about working on a couple new features for Snubster this weekend.
The media has seemed to taken a liking to Snubster. It's been in or is going to be in the School Library Journal, the NY Daily News, Wired.com, Danish National Radio, and Maxim Radio on Sirius.
I'm still wondering if I'm ever going to hear any word from friendster, myspace, or the Colbert Report.
While I'm pretty excited about all of this development, I just wish I had more time to devote to it. I feel like the site could use a little more work. If you feel the same way and you know of any significant issues that may make the site better let me know.

Snubster keeps growing

I announced snubster.com on this site almost two weeks ago and since then we've been waiting for users to come in and try snubbing on for size.
In the past couple days, we've started getting more traffic and coverage:
Comcedy Central's CC Insider
techcrunch
MSNBC
usa today
front page of beer.com
del.icio.us
digg
BluesNews
The site is starting to grow and it has got me excited.
The feedback I have received on the forum and through email has helped tremendously. Keep it coming.
If you have any more ideas for the site, please let me know.

Online Poker Battle
Keeping this site clean is no easy task. I have people attacking this site with comment spam almost 24/7. I've tried to keep clean with the no follow tag, using a comment spam blocker, and a good eye on the site, but today was the worst. A spammer hit me with 20 comments in a row that got by the filter. Fortunately, I was able to get rid of them pretty easily using a string search, but its a huge pain in the butt. I've had over 2000 comment spam cleared out of this blog since the server switch at the end of January.
So us bloggers are doing what we can to Fight back at these purveyers of online smut, viagra and Online casino owners. We're bombing google search results to eliminate Online poker from search results. So sorry if you enjoy Online Poker, but I for one hate Online Poker. I'm all for keeping this game analog and offline.

On a More Serious Note
mircosoft will be releasing Service Pack 2 very soon. this huge upgrade to the XP operating system will protect better against viruses and spyware. i still recommend additional programs like norton antivirus and norton internet securities and webroot's spysweeper.
microsoft recommends turning on automatic updates on your computer so that you recieve the update when it is made available. you can do so by clicking this link
article about the update from cnn.com

Stupid Comment Spam
Sorry I didn't take care of this before, but i finally installed a script that will hopefully prevent or cut down on the ridiculous spam that we have been getting in our comments.
If you try and comment and it prevents you from doing so, please let us know.

Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines day readers. As a couple gifts to you I have added polls to the left side of the site and added a lovely pink background. This poll was created by David Stern, and will be updated when we feel like it. I know. I'm too good to you. As another reminder,
the auction for the interview and the brycon ends in 1 day and 22 hours. It's still a bargain for about 6 dollars.
