Another Facebook App
I'm getting into this facebook app development. While I might not be the biggest fan of "social networking", I'm still a nerd and I like playing with new toys.
So I'm introducing the latest Facebook Application creation, WhereImDrinking.
The basic idea is, everybody marks down where they're planning on drinking. Then that info is populated into your profile.
The hope is that once enough people start using it, you'll start to be able to see where everyone's gonna be on a certain night. You'll be able to look up which neighborhood more people are going to and which bars more people are going to that night.
I've loaded in New York, Boston, DC, and Beloit as lists of bars. More are coming.
Let me know if you haev any questions or comments.

Get a Wii this Wiikend

The Nintendo Wii is possible the best gaming console EVER.
Unfortunately, it makes it really hard to get a hold of. Analysts are speculating it will be tough until March to walk in a store and just get a Wii.
According to my sources, (internets, interweb, the google) Retailers have been saving their inventory for sunday morning.
Each store should have a minimum of 15 with some up to 50.
Retailers:
Best Buy
Target
I wouldn't recommend getting there right before opening, I would say 5AM at the latest

Take YouTube to go!
So in the past you haven't been able to take Youtube videos with you or save youtube videos to your hard disk very easily. Now you can.
I'm guessing someone has decompiled their flash application and now makes it really easy to save the videos.
Step 1:
Go to http://www.youtube.com - Find the video clips you want to save.
Step 2:
Go to http://www.youtubex.com - Paste in the URL to the video clips you want to download
Step 3:
Use a FLV player to play your videos on your computer, or get an FLV converter to convert files to a format that you can play on your computer or on your favorite portable media device

Straight out of Lynnwood
Good Ol' weird Al Yankovic is back. His latest release "straight out of lynwood" has a few amusing parody tracks including "White and Nerdy", Canadian Idiot, Trapped in the Drive-Thru, Confessions Part III and a good polka remix of a bunch of recent hits.
Here is the video to White and Nerdy:

Found an old cassette

Found an old cassette of mine from my old singing days. Actually, while me singing the classics might have been a great idea for a tape, unfortunately it's just an image generated from this website.
As long as you're making useless photos, you might as well make some for work as well. Motivational Poster Generator.

HuntOnly.com - A new site for Hunters
Here's a new site from about Hunting that a friend has started up. It's called HuntOnly.com and its supposed to be a site and forum dedicated to all sorts of hunting.
I know that there aren't many hunters on the internet, and probably not on this site, but on the other hand, there aren't many good hunting sites out there either. So if you like hunting, take a gander at the site and mebbe stop by the forums

Announcing Snubster

Just finished coding the first release of Snubster. I guess you could describe it as anti-social networking.
Basically, I got tired of all of those social networking sites out there like friendster, facebook, myspace and decided to make a site that is decidedly more useful. Instead of faking that people are your friends, put them either "On Notice" or declare them "dead to you" for real. Read more about it at the about page.
As usual, any comments or suggestions to make the site better will always be appreciated and I hope to make a new release every week or so.

Bird's eye view from Microsoft
Looks like we have another round of fight from Microsoft vs. Google.
I came across local.live.com today. At first glance it seemed like just another map site with aerial photography. In many instances the aerial photography is much newer on their site.
However the "cool factor" comes with their "bird's eye view". This allows you to not only see a house from top down, but also from the side.
While their address lookup system seems a bit hokey at the moment, you can zip to your favorite city and then peruse from there.
And for once, Beloit is in the mix!

75 Bands in one poster
Here's a poster that claims to have 75 bands represented in it. It looks like the poster was made by Virgin Records. I'd like to get a list of all the answers. So I'll start leaving the ones i've found so far in comments.
You can click on the thumbnail above for a full size version.

Random Facts about Chuck Norris

Thanks to Brent for this one:
Remember those lame hot or not sites? Well somebody finally took that basic idea and made it into something useful / funny. It's the Chuck Norris Random Fact Generator.
Admittedly, if you decide to flip through all of them at random, a lot of them do suck, I do believe that the top 30 is a good read.

Lumines!
So if you're like me and think the PSP is just not worth the cost, check out this site. It's got a remake of Lumines, which is supposed to be the best thing on PSP right now. Think Tetris meets Puzzle Fighter meets the Insane Game (aka JT's Blocks). Of course I've never played the real Lumines, so I don't know how it compares. But this is pretty fun and its free!
The one weird thing is the controls, which are really unintuitive. ADSW move the blocks around, and JK rotate. You want to try to build up 2x2 squares (after which you can add on blocks of 2) before the line sweeps by and destroys all of them. You can also use the blocks with dots in them to destroy chains of adjacent same-colored blocks.

Free PS2
Went to McDonalds in honor of our nations birthday on the fourth and got a code on the side of a Big Mac. Looks like instead of those instant win tickets, McDonalds is opting for an online code entry game. This means instead of the tickets having any value, whether you win or not is dependent on when you enter in your valid code. I guess I entered my code in at the right time because I scored a free PS2. The cool thing is that they tell you right away that you won, the part that sucks is filling out a bunch of forms and waiting 6-8 weeks.
The prizes are as follows:
1 of 5,000 PSP Units
1 of 6,750 PS2 Units
1 0f 5,000 PSP Games (Ape Escape: On the Loose, ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Twisted Metal: Head On, or Wipeout Pure)
1 of 15,000 PS2 Games (Gran Turismo 4, World Tour Soccer 2006, or Rachet And Clank: Up Your Arsenal)
1 of 20,000 PS2 Greatest Hits Games (ATV Offroad Fury 2, Jak 2, or Rachet And Clank: Going Commando)
Total prizes: 51,750
Total VALUE of prizes: $3,450,350
ODDS of Winning: The products are seeded by TIMES, not numbers. So about 51% of the "winning Times" are from 12:00PM EST to 7:59:59PM EST at random. Basically put, your code doesn't matter. What time you put the code in matters. If you put your code in first at any of the random "winning times", you could win. The odds of winning are 1:95,404. Hey, that's what the promotional posters say. Anyhow, you must be over the age of 13, and you will be issued an IRS 1099 Tax Form in January for the ARV (Approximate Retail Value) of the prize. So, yes, you do have to claim it on your taxes.
If you hate McDonald's food, send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to:
MCDONALD'S SONY PSP PROMOTION GAME CODE REQUEST
P.O. Box 49468
Strongsville, Ohio 44149-0468
Return Postage not needed for residents in Vermont. Requests must be post-dated between July 25, 2005 and August 1, 2005. Only one code is sent per request. Apparently, multiple requests per day may be granted. That's about it. The promotion is running along with a Neopets Happy Meal promotion. A Neopets PSP game will be coming out this Fall for the PSP owners who won't be spending their time loading up Liberty City.

15 pounder

I don't know about you but many times I am hungry for a burger, but this is amazing!!

If you are interested and have $30 to burn you can order a 15 pound burger from Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield, Pa. They say it takes 2-1/2 hours to cook so they recommend that you call ahead. In addition to the burger, it is a mighty bun and they put on 25 slices of cheese.

The Ultimate Taser Cannon

I was contemplating using the headline: The only way to fight the lines for Star Wars.
Well this bad boy is a 30 barrel taser cannon. This is not one of those wimpy units that they used to sell at the Sharper Image that ran on a 9 volt.
No this bad boy puts out 110,000 volts of electicity with laser guided precision.
There's so much power in this sucker that the lead wire for the electricity vaporizes and the power travels on a beam of plasma.
Anything within 35 feet is a target for this pneumatically controlled beast.

Say Cheese
Heard about this through work.
This is on the NASA forums:
Google (www.google.com) has been gracious enough to provide us with 24 hour access to their global imaging satellite, gSat.
We invite the World Wind community to participate in this great event; the gSat will be imaging the entire Earth this Friday, the first of April.
If you want to be photographed in this new dataset, the gSat's special orbit should mean that it passes over your respective time zone between 10:00am and 11:00am.
Simply go outside that hour and wave, feel free to make signs supporting World Wind or other message, but please keep things appropriate. This new set of images should be in the next major version of World Wind due in a few months. Thanks again for the community's support and interest in World Wind!

This is what they should teach you in College
Internet games are great for procrastinating. For some serious time committment, this game will drive you nuts for hours. It's unlike any game I've ever witnessed. If you think you are a computer geek, the master of games, or the next Mensa candidate, give it shot. Be ready to think outside the box (or at least outside the middle of the screen). There are 100 levels. Maybe this is what they should use for Grad School requirements....

The Enormous Omelet Sandwich
Sure we all love bigger and better. And so we watch as Burger King and McDonalds target the egos and the stomachs of the 20 something crowd. No longer are they worried about crimping calories, now they want to make sure that the sandwich has a hemi.
Enter the Burger King Enormous Omelet Sandwich. Not bothering to assign a weight in the name, they just call it Enormous. It carries about 700 calories and about 47 grams of fat, or about the same as 7 subway sandwiches. And this is all before lunch.
The only problem is that if they're targeting the 20 something college type age group, they're going to make sure that they serve breakfast later than that crack-o-dawn 10:30 am crap.
