these two stories from cnn.com caught my eye today.
story one: "Rat cells grown onto microscopic silicon chips worked as tiny robots, perhaps a first step towards a self-assembling device."
once again note, SELF-ASSEMBLING, scary...
story two: "2 million Muslim pilgrims prayed for salvation Wednesday at Mount Arafat, where Saudi Arabia's top cleric said the greatest test for the nation of Islam comes from its sons who are "lured by the devil," a reference to violent Muslim militants."
we dont have enough video links on this site yet here is the footage of Jon Stewart on crossfire which is classic, an all time TV top 10 in addition is a ton of other footage from election humorous things... enjoy...

a judge in 'bama has decided to put the ten commandments on his robe. as he says
is the judges statement correct? how important is a higher principle in deciding matters of law?
A new book to be published next year claims that Abraham Lincoln not only freed the slaves, but also took it in the pooper. "The Intimate World of Abraham Lincoln," will be published on 1/11/04 by a Simon and Schuster press.
In it, the book claims that a Abraham Lincoln led this secret life of rampant homsexuality. This is based on letters between him and another man, and the fact that he was roommates with another man. Based on this evidence, if you've ever been to college and had a same sex roommate, and if you've ever written an email to another person of the same sex. Well, there's a good chance that after you're long gone and dead, that people won't remember your life for freeing slaves, but for biting the pillow.
Why write a book like this? I would say people who write books like this should be shot, but apparently C.A. Tripp has already passed away. Now that the original author as passed away, the Co-author is pleading with the printer not to print the book because, surprise, it's full of things that were just made up by C.A. Tripp.
It just seems stupid to try and rewrite history to make yourself feel better. It's such a gay thing to do.
since the election has ended there hasnt been much to write about politics. i found some campagien promotional materials that would have made him win by a landslide. in addition i wrote the president a speech. crap i was going to add a thrid neat site but most of the sites are anti-bush... shucks...
ABC News is reporting that Dan Rather has announced he will be Stepping down as CBS News Anchor.
how do you fix a broken political party... eat at Applebees...
In 2008, presidential debates should take the form of one that was held at an Apple Valley, MN high school. Where if you don't like what the other person said, you attack them with a bat. But on the other hand, the comment was a little wrong, because lots of heterosexual people supported Kerry, just some more typical Republican fear mongering :-p.
from cnn.com:
APPLE VALLEY, Minnesota (AP) -- Three high school students, one allegedly armed with a bat, were charged with attacking a pro-President Bush classmate after he reportedly said only gays would support Sen. John Kerry.
"It's a good thing to see young people interested and excited about politics," said Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom. "It's obviously very disturbing to see this kind of violence over it."
The 17-year-old was assaulted last Thursday in the high school parking lot following a class discussion about the election, authorities said.
...
I wonder if the bat was corked? Hope this kind of violence doesn't spread to Wisconsin. Wonder who the attackers would have voted for?
If you're British, getting your picture taken with the queen is a big deal. It's almost like getting your picture taken with George W. Bush.
But Colonel Simon West in his picture next to the Queen appears to be enjoying it a little but too much. Maybe it was something in the wind. Maybe its because he was showing his twig and berries to the whole world.
I think it was a ballsy move by West.

Is Bush Bad for Google?
Look what happened after Nov. 2nd
Found this on the web. Its a listing of the goals of the Texas Repbulican party for 2000. Just interesting to see how the other side (the red's) think. I think its very anti-american, but that's just me. Suppossedly its from a book called the "Great Divide"

Also found this about the perception of bush voters vs. kerry voters:
What Bush voters believe vs. what Kerry voters believed
Today I got an email from George Bush thanking me for my help. I'd like to say George, You're welcome
Dear Bryant,
We had a long night -- and we had a great night. The voters turned out in record numbers and delivered an historic victory.
I want to thank our supporters across this country. At every stop I asked you to make the calls, put up the signs, talk to your neighbors, and get out the vote. And because you did your part, we are celebrating today. Thanks to you, we received more votes than any presidential ticket in history.
America has spoken. And I am humbled by the trust and confidence of my fellow citizens. With that trust comes a duty: I will serve all Americans, so help me God. I am proud to lead such an amazing country -- and I am proud to lead it forward.
Reaching our goals will require the broad support of Americans. A new term is a new opportunity to reach out to the whole nation. We have one country, one Constitution, and one future that binds us all. And when we come together and work together, there is no limit to the greatness of America.
A campaign has ended, and our cause is renewed. The United States of America goes forward with confidence and faith. I can see a new day coming, and I am eager for the work ahead. God bless you all, and God bless America.

Now all we have to do is wait for the concession speech from Kerry.
Not only did Republicans win the electoral vote, they also won the popular vote total surpassing Reagan. Not only did Republicans win the Presidency, they also won the senate, house, and governor races. We'll see what this means for democrats in the next few years. I hope the F.A.G. and P Diddy are happy now that the American public came out and voted in Record Numbers.
Dan Rather looked mighty defeated last night. Kept mentioning that the election was such a big headache. I think it was just him seeing his own career crumble before his own eyes. I am giving Dan Rather 6 months max left on CBS
Now it is left for John Kerry to make his concession speech. It is yet to see if he will protract this defeat or whether he will concede to George W. Bush as the winner.
Voter Fraud seems to be a hot trend today...
"Problems were already being reported in Pennsylvania, FOX News has learned, with the state GOP calling for some voting machines to be impounded because Republicans said there were votes cast on them before the polls officially opened."
Bryant is just afraid that people might vote for John Kerrry so he's joining the Republican call to keep people from voting. To attempt to scare them into not voting. Notice his less then subtle attacks on John Kerry, its just getting sad on the parts of Republicans.
It's your right as an American.
Don't vote today. Don't vote today if you are only voting because some actor on TV told you that it would be a good idea to vote. Don't vote today because you went to a rock concert and some rock star told you. Don't vote today because you think all your friends at school are voting for someone. Don't vote today if you're voting just because you're scared P. Diddy will kill you if you don't. Don't vote today if you think you have to vote one way another just because of your race or skin color.
Vote today if you're informed on the platforms or lack of platforms of a candidate. Vote today if you care about America and where it is headed. Vote today if you care who is in office.
Vote for George Bush if you want a president who will continue to fight the war on terror. Vote for George Bush if you want a president who will lower our taxes. Vote for George Bush if you want our economy to continue to grow and if you want to continue to create jobs. Vote for George Bush if you connect with him as a fellow American who wants the best for our country.
Vote for John Kerry if you want a president who sways when politically convenient. Vote for John Kerry if you agree that we shouldn't have had allies help us in Afghanistan, should have waited for the global test in Iraq, but should go it alone in North Korea. Vote for John Kerry if you're for partial birth abortion. Vote for John Kerry if you're as far left as Ted Kennedy. Vote for Kerry if you're for raising taxes. Vote for John Kerry if you're Osama Bin Laden.

Congratulations to the Red Sox for winning the World Series. After 86 years, They have finally won the World series again.
What do the players have to say now that they won the world series?
Kurt Shilling says, "Tell everybody to vote. And vote Bush next week."
So remember to vote for Bush Next week. Kurt Shilling says so.
REAL NEWS POST. ABC news has aquired a tape from a supposed terrorist. it warns of an attack soo large that 9/11 will look small by comparison. ABC is sketchy on releasing the tape. It could shift the election, should it be shown? what does this mean? is the country safer or more insecure with Bush?
interesting the tape states that the attack is coming because we got rid of the Taliban... didnt they attack us first????
i love posts with videos... better than having to read... here is our commander and cheif showing off his extensive knowledge of sign language...
Yesterday, John Kerry and his wife pushed out some harsh words:
"Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good," Heinz Kerry said. "But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things." - Teresa Heinz
First. That comes in a little harsh for a woman who inherited the Heinz fortune. Second, It's just not true. Laura Bush taught in public schools in Texas from 1968 to 1977, the year she married George W. Bush.
"Once again, the Bush administration proves that it is the 'do as we say, not as we do' White House," the campaign said in a statement issued in Pittsburgh where Kerry was campaigning. - John Kerry on Dick Cheney Getting a flu shot
I'm sorry. Isn't Cheney an ideal candidate for a flu shot? He's old as time, people kept thinking he was going to die over the past 4 years, he's had heart surgeries. And why isn't it ok for Cheney to get a Flu shot when Clinton just got one?
So I've been meaning to post this all week.
So all my research into this paper has shown that it is an arch-conservative newspaper that has endorsed every Republican candidate for the last 40 years. And while its good that they aren't supporting Bush, it does kinda suck that they decided to not back Kerry (but at least they, the paper, are sticking with there guns).
I like this quote: "Bush has failed to deliver on his promise to be a compassionate conservative."
and this one:
But we are unable to endorse President Bush for re- election because of his mishandling of the war in Iraq, his record deficit spending, his assault on open government and his failed promise to be a ``uniter not a divider'' within the United States and the world.
I guess today is video day:
Here's Edwards getting his hair perfect. Making sure every hair is in place with gobs of hairspray. And then he pulls out a compact?
If we have to vote on who's more man, Cheney or Edwards, Who would win?
This is almost as bad as Kerry making home movies of himself.
Last friday Jon Stewart went on crossfire, a show that I actually don't watch, so I don't know much about it. But I guess its suppossed to be a debate show. Anyways, the two host bring Jon Stewart on to I guess try and raise the ratings and expect him to be little clown boy. Instead he takes them to town for being clown boys themselves. Its gooood.
here it is. Jon Stewart on Crossfire

FOOTBALL + ELECTION
The Washington Redskins have proved to be a time-tested election predictor. In the previous 15 elections, if the Washington Redskins have lost their last home game prior to the election, the incumbent party has lost the White House. When they have won, the incumbent has stayed in power.
This election year, that deciding game takes place on Sunday, October 31 ... vs. Green Bay.
As long as we're getting information from local papers today:
Well it looks like the paper in Crawford Texas (where the leader of the surprisingly less freeworld has a ranch) has decided to see the error of its ways and endorse a one Sen/ John Kerry for president. Read about it here in Bush's hometown newspaper.
Here's another article on why conservatives really shouldn't vote for a one Pres. Bush this time around.
This has been distributed in several states by the Democratic National Committee
We've had too much video lately on the canidates so i give you a radio ad that you just gotta listen to.... helps to explain some of kerry's policies...
this one is for you noah...
So those people over at jibjab have put out another shockwave video... its pretty good.
so go watch it.
since I can't get the direct link to work .. you'll just have to click on the link on their main page.
This is an intersting letter from a Wall Street Journal reporter on the status of Iraq.
Just so you know, Wall Street Journal is a pretty respectable paper and is very very independant.
some excerpts:
"So now my most pressing concern every day is not to write a kick-ass story but to stay alive and make sure our Iraqi employees stay alive. In Baghdad I am a security personnel first, a reporter second."
"The problem is so serious that the U.S. military has allocated $6 million dollars to buy out 30,000 cops they just trained to get rid of them quietly."
"Iraqis say that thanks to America they got freedom in exchange for
insecurity. Guess what? They say they'd take security over freedom any day, even if it means having a dictator ruler."
"I heard an educated Iraqi say today that if Saddam Hussein were allowed to run for elections he would get the majority of the vote. This is truly sad."
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So why did Kerry grab in his pocket? What did he bring to the debate?

Was soon to be ex president George W. Bush wearing a wire during the presidential debate?....
I don't know how much coverage this is getting in America, but here in the U.K. many people are curious what that strange bulge was, visible on Bush's back during his debate with John Kerry. Bush, a man reknowned for his inability to form coherent sentences, may have been a puppet to White House aides during the debates if these allegations are true. Salon.com and Britain's own The Guardian report. Tom Jones, a bulge expert, was unavailable to comment.
Bryant I know you were "fiddling around with the wireless settings on [your]laptop and [growing] disinterested" during the presidential debate, but had you been paying closer attention, perhaps you would have heard Kerry's full quote, not just the tiny bit that republicans have latched onto and misinterpreted. It was that you weren't paying attention right? You weren't deliberately trying to mislead the readers of this site with "pathetic scaremongering" were you?
We've never criticized his patriotism. What we've questioned is his judgment.
And his judgment's flawed, and the record's there for anybody who wants to look at it.
In 1984, when he ran for the Senate he opposed, or called for the elimination of a great many major weapons systems that were crucial to winning the Cold War and are important today to our overall forces.
When Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait and occupied it in 1990 and '91, he stood up on the floor of the Senate and voted against going in to liberate Kuwait and push Saddam Hussein back to Iraq.
And with respect to this particular operation, we've seen a situation in which, first, they voted to commit the troops, to send them to war, John Edwards and John Kerry, then they came back and when the question was whether or not you provide them with the resources they needed -- body armor, spare parts, ammunition -- they voted against it.
I couldn't figure out why that happened initially. And then I looked and figured out that what was happening was Howard Dean was making major progress in the Democratic primaries, running away with the primaries based on an anti-war record. So they, in effect, decided they would cast an anti-war vote and they voted against the troops.
........................................................................................
We heard Senator Kerry say the other night that there ought to be some kind of global test before U.S. troops are deployed preemptively to protect the United States. That's part of a track record that goes back to the 1970s when he ran for Congress the first time and said troops should not be deployed without U.N. approval. Then, in the mid-'80s, he ran on the basis of cutting most of our major defense programs. In 1991, he voted against Desert Storm.
A little tough talk in the midst of a campaign or as part of a presidential debate cannot obscure a record of 30 years of being on the wrong side of defense issues.
And they give absolutely no indication, based on that record, of being wiling to go forward and aggressively pursue the war on terror with a kind of strategy that will work, that will defeat our enemies and will guarantee that the United States doesn't again get attacked by the likes of Al Qaida.
email circulating claims that bush will re-instate the draft. lots of people claim its false and i noticed in the debates bush closed with a comment on how our military will be volunteer based. should this be a cause of worry, is either canidate more likely to use a draft? will a draft happen? Bryant? Noah?
the democrats say no to draft, but what do the republicans say?
Bush is leading in another poll and this indicator is quote,
"100 percent accurate" in predicting the next president.
other breaking news: i just found out what im not going to be for halloween... yikes...
9 out of 10 Frenchmen would vote for Kerry? You don't want to be like the French now do you?
90 Second Rebuttal
I am sorry to hear my opponent, Bryant, did not enjoy the presidential debate. If truly, as Bryant said, the debate left voters with the impression that Bush “stands firmly in his beliefs and… will be a strong commander in chief” and that Kerry “might change his beliefs as often as the wind changes”, one would think that Bryant, an avid Bush backer, should have thoroughly enjoyed the debate. Why then did Bryant not like the presidential debate? Was it because of the unfair camera work that, instead of using “Lord of the Rings”-style camera tricks to manipulate viewer’s impressions of height, unfairly portrayed the shorter candidate as being *gasp* shorter? Perhaps it’s our “age of Talk radio, Political websites, and Movies” that’s to blame. What is more likely, I think, is that the debate simply illustrated that John Kerry will be better apresident than George W. Bush......
Perhaps Bryant is upset because George W. Bush often came across sounding more like a fool than a strong leader, saying “People out there listening know what I believe. And that's how best it is to keep the peace.” Perhaps it’s because in a recent Gallup poll of registered voters who watched the first debate, a large majority said Kerry did a better job. Perhaps it’s the proliferation of online polls, like that on CNN.com that show 76% of viewers feeling that Kerry “won” the debate. Perhaps he is upset because a bipartisan panel of political analysts including Paul Begala, Bob Novak, and Carlos Watson all thought that Kerry gave a much better presentation than Bush.
However regardless of what other people though or felt, I think I know the real reason that Bryant didn’t enjoy last night’s presidential debate. It’s difficult to admit when you are wrong. John Kerry made it clear that not only does he have what it takes to be a strong leader, but that as president he will strengthen America by forging new alliances and fostering international cooperation, working with rather than against the rest of the world towards peace. George W. Bush on the other hand made it clear that he will continue to squander America’s international good-will, and erode our country’s power and influence by refusing work with other nations, and thereby harming America’s legitimacy as the world’s sole superpower.
There is a wind blowing – a wind of change. And it’s going to blow the village idiot all the way back to Crawford Texas.
This debate started with lots of potential. George Bush had the opportunity to completely knock Kerry off on the war on terror and his flip flop on the war in Iraq. Kerry had a chance to show himself as a new alternative with a solid plan that would lead America for the next four years. Both candidates fell short of delivering stand out performances ...
First on not the content of the debate, but on the effects of television. John Kerry is taller than George Bush. John Kerry stands at 6 foot 4. George W. Bush stands at 6 feet tall. So on the handshake in the beginning, George Bush tried to stand upstage closer to the camera and quickly made his way back the lectern. It was a little dissapointing to me to see our President next to John Kerry being 4 inches shorter. Next, the way that they framed the cameras, they made sure that some lectern was visible in the shot. This framing made Kerry look much taller because he was showing more torso. If they had closed in on the shot a little, this would have allowed for both candidates to get equal torso coverage. A small point, but I feel like it may have an impact on undecided voters America.
After about 15 minutes of watching the debates, I found myself getting bored. John Kerry kept saying Bush made a mistake and we were fighting a war that was a grand diversion. Bush kept stating we need solid resolve in fighting Terror abroad. Nothing new here. We've heard about this forever. I started fiddling around with the wireless settings on my laptop and grew disinterested. I feel like a big portion of the American public would have tuned out after about 15-20 minutes and found something better on T.V.
Takeaway message here was, If you were a Bush supporter you'll know that Bush stands firmly in his beliefs and he will be a strong commander in chief who is commited to fighting this war on Terror.
If you're a Kerry supporter, you'll see that your candidate might change his beliefs as often as the wind changes, He can work like a prosecuter at pointing fingers at what he thinks Bush has done wrong in the past four years.
If you're undecided, I don't think saw anything different today in candidates. I think you saw one candidate as a friendly American who might be your fishing buddy. An American who lives off a set of core values and who has led the country as a neighbor. Then you saw an American who loves this country, but as a politician who is desperately fighting for office and a prosecutor who is pointing fingers at the current President.
Ultimately, I think this debate was a waste of time and money. There was nothing new. It was quite frankly pretty boring. What was more exciting was the spin alley after the debate. I believe the Bush Campaign did a much better job in Spin Alley.
What might have been better is to have the two candidates duke it out in a sporting event., maybe have each have 15 minutes telling jokes, or something else that shows us something we haven't seen before. In this age of spectacular reality television, I'm not convinced this debate was a good enough sell to really get anyone excited.
While I'm not looking forward to seeing a town hall of "undecided voters" in a few weeks that will ask planted questions, I think it will make for a better debate. What they can do to make it even better is to invite Ralph Nader to debate.
In the age of Talk radio, Political websites, and Movies. Has the TV debate already become outdated and pointless?
the latest poll is out. Bush is leading once again. funny, how the campagian has hurt heinz foods.
for our enlightened readers, is there an article about how business has been for Heinz since the race started?

This graphic claims that the path of the Hurricanes missed all of the counties that Voted for Gore in the 200 Election.
Read more about it after the link:
Immediately I had several problems with this.
1. The Lines that were drawn look fake.
2. Hurricanes are 300-400 miles wide, not some skinny little line that selectively attacks like Godzilla
3. Since 90% of the geographic area is covered by Bush Counties. It is expected that there will be more damage in Florida in Bush Counties than in Gore Counties.
Here is the Path of Frances.
See the little inlet? See the eye of the storm right above the inlet? That Pasco Country. They voted for Gore.
See how in this image the hurricane is in the Gulf of Mexico? Not at all on the original image.
The original Bush Bash image said his IVAN path was a projection on September 14th. Here is the projection from the NOAA as of Septemeber 14th. Ivan barely grazed Florida.
Here is Charley's Destruction results. It's not like Orange and Osceola Counties got off Scott free in this one.

Here is an overlay of the combination of all of the Disaster Zones. Notice How Madison and Lafayette aren't as orange as the others. While the Bushbash image shows a hurricane plowing right through the center of it.

More sunlight falls on Bush Country more than Gore Country. God Must love Bush.

A canadian town is building monuement to draft dodgers also plans to hold a festival to honor these "heros."
do draft dodger deserve a monuement?
I saw an ad for this on our site and i thought it was hilarious.
W Ketchup that was made in America and doesn't support democrats.
Also a Joke from work:
The teacher asked her children what their fathers did for a living. All
the typical answers came up --- fireman, policeman, salesman, doctor,
lawyer, etc. Timmy was being uncharacteristically quiet, so the teacher
asked him about his father.
"My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his
clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear.
Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and
make love with him for more money."
The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other
children to work on some exercises and took little Timmy aside to ask
him, "Is that really true about your father?"
"No," said Timmy, "He works for the Democratic National Committee to
elect John Kerry, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front
of the other kids"
Personally I would like to see Dan Rather fired for his irresponsible journalism. I have heard lots of stuff about what Dan Rather did wrong:
Ignoring requests from Family of the Lt. Commander.
Ignoring warnings from document examiners.
Taking advice from a emotional handwriting specialist to validate the documents.
Running with a story without revealing the source.
Running with Documents that have so many obvious inconsistencies.
The last argument is the most compelling to me, and I found an article at the Washington Post that lists all of the inconsistencies in the document. I would like to know how CBS stands behind the memos now that the obvious inconsistencies are out there and Rather's ratings have plummeted.
The North Korean situation has just got a whole lot worse.
Looks like it turned out not to be nuclear. But then what was it?
In response to Bryant's last post I just thought it should be pointed out that the swift boat ads have not only been shown to be purposfully misleading, and out of context, but that it may have violated federal election laws. Even Bush himself called for an end to the ads..... of course he waited untill over a week after the ads aired to do this
I haven't talked about our buddy John Kerry in a while, so this post is dedicated to our favorite purple hearted vet.
This weekend Bill Clinton went into Bypass Surgery after experiencing shortness of breath and chestpains. It looks like he'll make a full recovery. He's already back at directing the Democratic Party. From his bed in his hospital, he gave advice to Kerry: Stop Talking About Vietnam. I wish Clinton hadn't said anything, and let Kerry keep digging his own grave. I guess it looks like The Swift Boat Ads did work.
Now After the Republican Convention, It looks like Bush is going to take the 11 point lead and hopefully take it to the finish line.
As of now, I'm giving Kerry a Maximum of 10-12 states in the upcoming election. This is much better than the AOL state by state electoral poll
Here is some more fodder coming from the office. Thanks to Robert for this one. It shows John Kerry and John Edwards a la McGreevey.
Also Unrelated from Robert,
Possibly the worst drunk driving story ever.
Imagine being woken up by cops in the morning, realizing your clothes are all bloody, your best friends body is in your trunk, his head is in the bushes, and you have a broken side mirror on your pickup truck.
there are lots of ways to support our troop in Iraq. The newest being gmail4troops.com . give your free invites to someone in the armed services.. the question is though, why not just have them use hotmail or yahoo? i know the site makes a case for why they need gmail but im not convinced.
From Tom at work who is quickly becoming a legend:
A new medal has been created called the "Purple Owie." It was named in honor of John Kerry who received 3 purple hearts in 4 months but never spent a day in the hospital. It is worn directly over the wound in question. After use it is rolled up and thrown over the nearest fence. These Band-Aids are made overseas where all our other many factories are located.
You may or may not have heard about this group of bands that are tooling around the country touting their "Vote for change" tour. The group includes such groups as Jackson Browne, the Ditzy Chicks and others. They hope that by playing their music, people will go out and decide that it's in the country's best interest to go vote for Kerry.
I personally think this is the stupidest idea on earth. Apparently, Alice Cooper agrees with me. Here's a quote from him,
"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal." He also said that mixing rock and roll with politics was treason.
BTW, Anyone have any canadian insight into this canoe website?
and thanks to Tom at work for the heads up.
I guess George Bush isn't the only one out there looking for a new job.
Look what popped up on my desk at work. A Job application from John Kerry.
JOB APPLICATION
NAME: John Kerry
RESIDENCE: 7 mansions. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Law Enforcement. I voted to cut every law enforcement, CIA and defense bill in my career as a US Senator. I ordered Boston to remove a fire hydrant which I considered unsightly, in front of my mansion, thereby endangering my neighbors in the event of fire.
MILITARY:
I used three minor injuries to get an early discharge from the military and service in Vietnam (as documented by the attending doctor). I then returned to the US, joined Jane Fonda in protesting the war, and insulted returning Vietnam vets, claiming they committed atrocities and were baby killers. I threw my medals, ribbons, or something away in protest. Or did I? My book; Vietnam Veterans Against the War: The New Soldier shows how I truly feel about the military. I deplore the military!
COLLEGE:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Unlike my counterpart George Bush, I have no higher education and did not get admitted to Harvard nor graduate with an M.B.A
PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and have been there ever since. I have no real world experience except that of a gigolo, by marrying rich women and running HJ Heinz vicariously through my wife Teresa.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
As a US Senator I set the record for the most liberal voting record, exceeding even Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. I have consistently failed to support our military and CIA by voting against budgets, thus gutting our country's ability to defend itself. Although I voted for the Iraq War, now I am against it and refuse to admit that I voted for it. I voted for every liberal piece of legislation. I have no plan to help this country but I intend to raise taxes significantly if I am elected.
My wealth so far exceeds that of my counterpart, George Bush, that he will never catch up. I make no or little charitable contributions and have never agreed to pay any voluntary excess taxes in MA, despite family wealth in excess of $700 million.
I (we) own 28 manufacturing plants (Heinz) outside of the U.S. in places like Asia, Mexico and Europe. We can make more profit from the cheaper cost of labor in those Countries, although blame George Bush for sending all of the jobs out of Country.
Although I claim to be in favor of alternative energy
sources, Ted Kennedy and I oppose windmills off
Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard as it might spoil our view
of the ocean as we cruise on our yachts.

PERSONAL
I ride a Serotta Bike.

I call my $850,000 42-foot Hinckley twin diesel yacht the "Scarmouche." I am fascinated by rap and hip-hop and feel it reflects our real culture.
I own several "Large" SUVs including one parked at my Nantucket summer mansion, though I am against large polluting inefficient vehicles and blame George Bush for the energy problems.
PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004.
With all the Kerry Bashing that this site does, pointing out such egrigious offences as the weak throwing arm of the war veteran who has underwent rotator cuff surgery, and slipping 2% in a poll that has a 3% margin of error, I though I would balance out the political scales a little by presenting George Bush's Resume. Credit to Kelsey Kramer for makng the original.

So normally, after your party's convention, you get your base all excited, the middle likes you because you promised them everything, there's balloons and loud music, and you enjoy a nice boost at the polls.
This happened for John Kerry, except the boost went to George W. Bush. Here are the results to the CNN/Gallup Polls. Bush got a 5 point boost.
I just wanted to extend a thank you to John Kerry for being such a gentleman and returning the boost to the Whitehouse. I guess it's not just medals he'll toss over.
Some of you might have seen the girly pitch that Kerry threw to open a Red Sox fan. With each bounce it took before reaching home plate, it reassured us all that Kerry would never play professional sports, or throw a baseball in public again. However, taking time off before filming Gigli 2, Aflac has attempted to defend Kerry's wimpy throw to anyone who will listen. Apparently after realizing that all of his movies suck, he's going to try and parlay his lackluster movie career into a political life and get out of Matt Damon's shadow. I think his new role models will ironically be republicans Arnold and Ronnie. I don't think Matt realizes that its going to take longer than he thinks for the American public to forgive him for his ugly breakup with J-Lo.
But why not enter politics after a movie career. It seems like that's what John Kerry is trying to do. It has been revealed that much of his "Vietnam War footage" on his personal camera was actually re-enacted. In a quote from a new book, Unfit for Command:
"Kerry would revisit ambush locations for reenacting combat scenes where he would portray the hero, catching it all on film. Kerry would take movies of himself walking around in combat gear, sometimes dressed as an infantryman walking resolutely through the terrain. He even filmed mock interviews of himself narrating his exploits. A joke circulated among Swiftees was that Kerry left Vietnam early not because he received three Purple Hearts, but because he had recorded enough film of himself to take home for his planned political campaigns."
this is a great video slowly becoming a web phenom. dont worry it pokes fun at dems and repubs and is very very humorous.
i find this article a little distrubing. its about religious tolerance and how saudi arabia should have done more to encourage this in its kingdom. the troubling part is what it subtly implies is extremism:
"I know it's partially about religious conservatism in a Muslim country, but I also wonder if it's a symbol of how the Saudis have never taught tolerance of outside values, whether they be women's fashion or another's religion....
A textbook for 6-year-olds published last year by the Saudi education ministry, and currently in use at the Virginia school, reads: "All religions other than Islam are false." A note for teachers says they should "ensure to explain" this point."
If its extremism to not accept all faiths as valid then just about every american is now an extermist. Noah is, he is an athesiest. I guess i would be too, I am a Christian.
By nature religious claims are mutually exculisive and i do not get why one can no longer make claims that other religions are false. it seems as if you do, you must be an extermist.
the J-word is Jesus and at a town meeting it was used in an opening prayer. the town says that it allows anyone to lead the prayer from rabbis to catholics and all those in between and therefore defends its practice. Are they right?
And what to make of this quote from the article:
"The founding fathers weren't trying to keep religion out of government, they were trying to keep government out of religion," said Farmer, pastor of the New Life Church and president of the Deerfield Beach Christian Ministerial Association. "Their desire was for freedom of religion, not freedom from religion."
I leave it all to you and your comments...
a bank one in chicago's southside has put metal detectors into its building. Each person that enters needs to pass through. Just so happens this neighborhood is perdominatly black. The Bank says they need the extra security because of high crime in that area. Some residents feel its because its a 'black neighborhood' and thus racial profiling.
My point of view: I say if a business is in a high crime area it has the right to take certian steps to protect itself. If the residents dont like the security measures then fine dont bank there. I think that it will make certian customers more likely to bank with them... id rather bank at a place i know my money is more safe if i live in a crime high neighborhood.
Your thoughts are welcome....
Looks like the Boston Globe has sunk to a new low. The Boston Herald reports that, in attempt to show exclusive Iraqi Prison Photos, they have posted pictures from an pornographic Islamic propoganda site. I don't know what's more alarming, that there is such a website, or that the Boston Globe printed uncredited photos from the website.
This just shows how quickly and dangerously they acted to shove more dirt on the war. This is on the same level as The Mirror in the UK printing fake photos of British Soldier Iraqi Prisoner abuse.
It disgusts me how much more they are covering the hazing of Iraqi prisoners than they are of the deliberate terrorist act of beheading innocent American contractor Nick Berg. There is such an political motive to only show the bad coming from the war, can the beheading of an American no longer get any media attention?
When the whiny RIAA isn't busy trying to sue students and busy not generating new talent, they're busy whining about how record sales have gone down since people have stopped spending money and have started downloading all of their music.
Apparently, if you look at the statistics another way, a way that makes more sense, then record sales have increased. This is why I hate statistics and am skeptical to put much value on statistics or arguments that rely on statistics. The RIAA claimed a 7% decrease in retail sales last year. Sure enough, according to RIAA numbers, they shipped 7% less product to stores. The RIAA is actively blaming this loss to online file sharing. However, cd sales have increased. The number of CD's purchased by people has increased by 9.4% . If the Lemonade stand game ever taught me anything, This seems to be good for everyone. Less inventory, lower prices, higher sales. The only people who get less money are the lemon sellers, but this isn't the fault of file sharing, it just indicates a smarter retailer that keeps less stock, and sells more for less.
I dont think the RIAA will every be able to stop online piracy. With a free digital distribution system why does the world need something like the RIAA any more? I'm just waiting for the day that KaZaa's successor rises. Hopefully this new file sharing system will be private and will be immune to RIAA lawsuits.
We live in a society where groups like the ACLU and many liberals are quick to make sure everyone feels ok and accepted. This leads to our current state where everyone is normal, everyone's entitled to whatever the please, teachers can't give a kid Tylenol for a headache, but can get the kid on Ritalin.
In today's science and technology we're keeping weaker and weaker people alive, I'm bombarded with emails so that gramps can buy a pill to get it on, and just about everyone now has allergies and ADD.
If unchecked our society is quickly going to deteriorate into a lazy sloths, who are whiny complainers, who are overweight, sick, crazy and just plain dumb. This is why I have been a long proponent of not allowing everyone the right to reproduce. It is a tough job raising a decent kid and quite frankly many people just don't make the cut.
Monroe County Family Court Judge Marilyn O'Connor has set precedent by ordering a couple in New York to have no more children. If the couple has children, will be charged with contempt of court. The judge is offering free sterilization for the couple. The parents already have four children, ages 1,2,4, and 5. All of them are neglected and all of them have tested positive for cocaine.
I applaud this move by Judge Marilyn O'Connor and have set up http://badparents.bryantchoung.com/ that allows you to report other parents and people who should not be allowed to reproduce. I'm sure we can get a pretty sizeable list just by looking through our archives.
In celebration of renowned right-wing conservative and poor grammatist Jesse Justus returning to the site, I though I would post a link to several web sites that have dedicated themselves to collecting the bizarre sayings of our beloved president. Site A, Site B>.
I think the name of this website speaks for itself:
www.JohnKerryIsADouchebagButImVotingForHimAnyway.com
I have a feeling this is a common feeling among Democrats.
Regardless of your political affiliation, you have to find these guys to be offensive. There are a few people online who are trying to start movements to get people to volunteer to be on the RNC staff for the RNC convention in New York City. Rather than encouraging them to volunteer to help the event, they are encouraging people to lie and deceive their way in to do a "trojan horse" attack on the convention. Several websites including William Etundi Jr.'s counterconvention and David A. Lynn's (whois)shadowprotest.org encourage people to infiltrate the Republican Convention.
This is just stupid. First of all, these "infiltrators" will have to spend hours going to interviews, organizational meetings, and preparing for the event that I'm not sure that many will be able to put up with the process. Second, these protests are making them look bad, making America look bad, and making New York City look bad. It is impossible to convey any sort of meaningful message with this sort of action.
I say we launch our own convention against these guys. Sign them up for spam, junk catalogs, pizza deliveries, C.O.D's, relay call phone calls, telemarketers, DOS attacks, or whatever you can throw at these dirtbags.
Howard Fineman details nine reasons that Bush is likely to win the upcoming presidential election. An interesting read, for conservatives and liberals alike. Curiously enough, it's not a FOX News article.
Add another to the flip flop chart.
Since running for senator in 1984, John Kerry has stated that he did not throw away his medals earned in Vietnam, but the medals of another veteran, and some of his own ribbons. He has claimed he did not do such a thing, because he is proud of his military service, and that claims that he did so are "right wing fiction".
If that is true, apparently John Kerry is part of this elaborate scheme to mislead the public. In a taped interview in 1971, Kerry specifically said, "I gave back, I can't remember, 6, 7, 8, 9 medals." The tape of this interview will air tomorrow morning on ABC's good morning america.
Just how many issues can one candidate waffle on?
Who needs the draft when our government has developed Directed Energy Weapons.
For Bonus points, who is the quote found in the title of this entry attributed to?
Its about time someone finally made a death-ray. What have you scientists been doing with all your time??
Are you ready to go to war in Iraq? And I don't mean "you" in the general sense, I mean you personaly, are you ready to go to war? A recent topic of debate centers on two bills introduced in the House and Senate requiring 2 years minimum military service for both men and women. Read more....
The bills in question were introduced last year, and were in fact introduced by opponents of the war in Iraq, however it is still an interesting question to consider. To support our ongoing military commitments worldwide should we have a draft? And should the draft inculde women as well as men? If we had a draft and you got drafted Jesse, would you still be in favor of the war? Bryant? My guess: you wouldn't last 10 minutes in the Army.
The Justice Department has recently started a new offensive on the Porn Industry. Becoming wildly profitable and mainstream, the Porn Industry is now making sure tha t it has paid all of it's taxes and followed all laws. Nothing is off limits for this task force is targeting everyone from sources like HBO, websites, and hotel movies.
The first paragraph of the Baltimore Sun article has an interesting Job Description. Lam Nguyen and five other "computer forensic specialists" have been hired to look at porn all day, every day.
I'm sure they have lively water cooler talk, lovely bring your daughter to work days, and have lots of employees bringing their work home. It's a tough job and somebody has to do it. We salute you Lam.
This article is from none other than cnn.com (im sure noah is cringing while reading this). Movies Studios are starting to release more NC-17 films. Six this year which may not seem like a lot but keep in mind only a handful of films have recieved an NC-17 rating since its inception. The question is: with all the conservatism dominating the radio and TV why would movies try to reverse this trend? or is the trend and radio and TV bound to revert back? will living in a Post-Janet world be different?
this article is great eveyone should read! it makes great points about how hippies dont do science and dont have good facts. There is no proof Global Warming exists! Yet sadly bad science and hippies dominate...
and get this, the article stems from a hippie global warming movie due out in may... sadly the movie produced more CO2 than it is likely to solve...
well well well... once again its time for Jesse's thought provoking post of the week. if we beat 20 comments im taking everyone out for ice cream and swimming in bryant's pool!!!
seems as if a man in california is sueing to have "under God" taken out of the pledge. He feels too offended that his child had to say under God. I say that the majority of americans believe in some sort of god (I myself am a evangelical Christian) and i think this line reflects national values of our past and present. It is a national statement and not a personal one from my point of view and thus the line should remain right where it is....
once again i await noah, or anyone else, to tell me just how wrong i am...
As the gay marriage debate heats up in our society, I found this article perplexing.. in an elementary school library a child checked out a book called "King & King." In the book a Prince decides chicks arent for him and falls for another Prince. This book angered the childs parents and i think rightly so, especially since it was a public school and their tax dollars support it.
Should books like this be in an elementary school library?
[edited by bryant to fix spelling errors and book title]
The hubble space telescope is getting screwed.... some lawmakers feel its too much trouble to fix hubble and thus are willing to let it fall into disrepair... maybe im partial or maybe this really is important, if you think it is sign the petition...
just last week it recorded images from just after the begining of the universe...
Now when you tell people that you don't watch porn, you can be telling the truth. The Girls Gone Wild video series which has become famous with its commercials on cable TV has been decided by a Florida Judge to be not porn. They were recently being prosecuted for having underage girls on their tapes. However, the judge deemed this ok, because the underage girls were on Girls Gone Wild, a non-pornagraphic show. This is just odd because it seems as though everyone is cracking down on decency standards. I just can't wait till Fox hears about this and starts airing it.
I would like to introduce to you the most trustworthy and responsible political party: The Marijuana Party. And I thought Democrats had some ridiculous ideas.
Kerry recently said that radio station have the right to pull the plug on Howard Stern if they viewed him as racy or obscene. A quick search on his website for a couple expletives shows that Kerry is an angry man with an obscene mouth. Who gets to pull the plug on his campaign's website? Maybe Kerry's looking to get additional international support from someone else who needs their mouth washed out with soap. Why are these Democratic candidates this year so angry?
i found this article about Howard Stern provocative... below is a quote...
"I'm guessing that sometime next week will be my last show on this station," said Stern, adding that he expected the FCC to hit him with a whopping indecency fine. "There's a cultural war going on. The religious right is winning. We're losing."
the question is: with mass media Christianity in the Passion and other hit tv shows about God and other recent forces, is the religious right picking up steam in America?????
I never understood why news organizations will always tell exactly what we're going to do and how we're going to do it before important military operations and attacks. It's understandable if you want the enemy to be prepared with exactly what we're going to come at him with, but why would you want to let the other team know what your plan is? If you have the leaked information, what's wrong with reporting after we successfully complete the mission and report why we were succesful?
When you're running for president of the United States, it's important that you get support of your Americans. Kerry right now looks like he is to become the next Democratic candidate for 2004 and now come in the endorsements. First it was Jane Fonda, and now it looks like he's gaining international recognition. Kim Jong-Il, the dictatorial leader of North Korea, a small communist country with a nuclear program, has warmed up to Kerry and the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), the official propaganda machine of Mr Kim's communist regime has been speaking quite fondly of Kerry. This probably isn't because they think Kerry will do a better job than Bush in shutting down their nuclear program. Remind me to get started on those fallout shelter plans if Kerry becomes president.
It seems as if taller canidates have won every election cept two.... and with kerry four inches taller than bush. I think it might be time to invest in some new shoes....
It seems that CNN can't decide whether a 5.6% unemployment rate is low or high. Look at these quotes and comparisons from the past decade or so...compiled by Tim Blair.
It seems like national Governments have finally caught up to cable TV. The President of Venezuala, Hugo Chavez, is facing heat from opposition in his country. He claims that the U.S. is backing the opposition that is trying to oust him. That's when he pulled out the big guns. Chavez said President Bush was an asshole. Looks like Chavez wants to pick a fight.
I just saw this trailer for Comedian, I know its not a new movie, but I just saw the trailer and it's inspired this post: In a world, where brute strength wins politics. In a time, when the President lays down the law with an iron fist. One man, born in Austria, wins the title of Mr. Universe, Conquers Hollywood, owns California, then charges Washington. Arnold 2008. Coming soon...
