Why do cows care about Daylight Savings?

It looks like they will be extending daylight savings time in America to reduce energy usage. Right now we're looking at an extra 3 weeks in the spring and an extra week int he fall. I think this is a good thing: extra daylight less energy. I would think this would make everyone happy.

According the CNN article, Farmers are saying it would adversely affect livestock. Since when do cows care what time it is?
