Lumines!
So if you're like me and think the PSP is just not worth the cost, check out this site. It's got a remake of Lumines, which is supposed to be the best thing on PSP right now. Think Tetris meets Puzzle Fighter meets the Insane Game (aka JT's Blocks). Of course I've never played the real Lumines, so I don't know how it compares. But this is pretty fun and its free!
The one weird thing is the controls, which are really unintuitive. ADSW move the blocks around, and JK rotate. You want to try to build up 2x2 squares (after which you can add on blocks of 2) before the line sweeps by and destroys all of them. You can also use the blocks with dots in them to destroy chains of adjacent same-colored blocks.

Stupid Parking Picture
Thanks to Jim for this.
Here's a picture he took outside of his apartment. Can't figure out which is stupider, the twin parking signs or the Scion in the back.

Ah Sadly it's not true
Saw this picture on the internet, Sadly it's not true, but yet another photoshop. What is funny though is that this Justin Spaeth Kid does look a lot like Peter Griffin.

Why do cows care about Daylight Savings?
It looks like they will be extending daylight savings time in America to reduce energy usage. Right now we're looking at an extra 3 weeks in the spring and an extra week int he fall. I think this is a good thing: extra daylight less energy. I would think this would make everyone happy.
According the CNN article, Farmers are saying it would adversely affect livestock. Since when do cows care what time it is?

Need to say something but too drunk to say it?

For those of you who are bad at voicing what you really mean, Especially when you're drunk. Here is a creative solution. A beer mug that can flash a message that tells the whole bar exactly what you think. Plus it will completment your scrolling belt buckle well.
Ironically, if you do enjoy sporting these items I have a feeling you may be drinking alone.
Sad.

Too Connected
A study has shown that the average person will get interrupted at work every 3 mintutes by something like a phone call, email, or IM.
The problem, according to the study, is that it takes 8 minutes of uninterrupted focus for the brain to get into a full creative state. Ergo, nobody in America is productive or Creative anymore.
Thanks internet.

Longhorn != Vista

Windows Codename Longhorn has been revealed as Windows Vista.
Vista?
They had all this time to pick a name and they chose Vista? I frankly think Longhorn is better. I'm tempted not to get it just based on the lame name.
Either way , it looks like I'll be able to get it on August 3rd. We'll post reviews of the actual software then.

Average Worker Wastes 2 hours a day

Of course I wasn't wasting time when I found this article, but here's an interesting article that claims that the average American wastes 2 hours a day by "surfing the Web, socializing with co-workers and simply "spacing out" ". While spacing out for 2 hours is incredibly funny its also incredibly odd. Maybe I just don't get that part.
And also due to the nature of these surveys and also personal guilt, Are we sure that the real number isn't much higher than 2 hours? And how many of you guys out there have finally found something that you're Above Average at?

Free PS2
Went to McDonalds in honor of our nations birthday on the fourth and got a code on the side of a Big Mac. Looks like instead of those instant win tickets, McDonalds is opting for an online code entry game. This means instead of the tickets having any value, whether you win or not is dependent on when you enter in your valid code. I guess I entered my code in at the right time because I scored a free PS2. The cool thing is that they tell you right away that you won, the part that sucks is filling out a bunch of forms and waiting 6-8 weeks.
The prizes are as follows:
1 of 5,000 PSP Units
1 of 6,750 PS2 Units
1 0f 5,000 PSP Games (Ape Escape: On the Loose, ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Twisted Metal: Head On, or Wipeout Pure)
1 of 15,000 PS2 Games (Gran Turismo 4, World Tour Soccer 2006, or Rachet And Clank: Up Your Arsenal)
1 of 20,000 PS2 Greatest Hits Games (ATV Offroad Fury 2, Jak 2, or Rachet And Clank: Going Commando)
Total prizes: 51,750
Total VALUE of prizes: $3,450,350
ODDS of Winning: The products are seeded by TIMES, not numbers. So about 51% of the "winning Times" are from 12:00PM EST to 7:59:59PM EST at random. Basically put, your code doesn't matter. What time you put the code in matters. If you put your code in first at any of the random "winning times", you could win. The odds of winning are 1:95,404. Hey, that's what the promotional posters say. Anyhow, you must be over the age of 13, and you will be issued an IRS 1099 Tax Form in January for the ARV (Approximate Retail Value) of the prize. So, yes, you do have to claim it on your taxes.
If you hate McDonald's food, send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope to:
MCDONALD'S SONY PSP PROMOTION GAME CODE REQUEST
P.O. Box 49468
Strongsville, Ohio 44149-0468
Return Postage not needed for residents in Vermont. Requests must be post-dated between July 25, 2005 and August 1, 2005. Only one code is sent per request. Apparently, multiple requests per day may be granted. That's about it. The promotion is running along with a Neopets Happy Meal promotion. A Neopets PSP game will be coming out this Fall for the PSP owners who won't be spending their time loading up Liberty City.

Windows Roullette
According to security Vendor Sophos, They claim that with all the viruses and attacks going on in the itnernet right now, there is a 50% chance that an unprotected windows PC will be compromised within 12 minutes. While it is true that unprotected windows PC's can be easy targets, I'm not too sure about their numbers here. And also remember that the person bringin you the news is a security vendor.
