Cop stabbed in donut store robbery

Vincent Schiavelli, an off duty police officer, was stabbed in a robbery at dunkin donuts. while the irony abounds it isnt the really odd part. the crime was committed by a man named Shron Killings. If a man with a last name of killings is threatening me, well i think i would try to be very careful...

Undersea Cable in Pakistan Clipped?

I'm normally not a big conspiracy theorist, but I had an odd feeling when I came across this article.

According to CNN, the main undersea cable that supplies telecommunications to Pakistan has gone down. And seeing how we think Osama might be in that country. And seeing how we have submarines with undersea cable tapping capabilities.

I dunno, maybe I'm just crazy

Napoleon Spelling Bee

This is a link to a video Clip of the National Spelling Bee. Instead of spelling the word, what does Dominic Ranz Ebarle Erazzo from Goose Creek do? He does a pretty good impression of Napoleon Dynamite. With a name like his, no wonder he's in the national spelling bee.

South Carolina News Station Hacked

A South Carolina news station had the brilliant idea of allowing schools and other public places to post closings. The even more brilliant part was that this was done through the internet. This allowed a group of clever wordsmiths to take advantage. Hilarity ensues.

Cell phone helped you out? Carry a Torch.

samsungcell.jpegWrite an essay about how a cell phone has helped you or someone you know in a time of need and Samsung may pick you to be one of 15 people to carry the olympic torch.

The tough part is that the essay is limited to 50 words. Time to break out the sob stories people.

This Case Mod blew in my direction and so I thought I'd breeze through it.

This Cool Mod is built entirely out of case fans. It has fans on every side of the case.

Not sure if I'm a fan of the way it looks.

An Incredibly Interesting Suggestion about Apple and Intel

Bob Cringley writes a very good article on his suspicion that Apple and Intel are going to announce a merger. That this union between the two is more a business decision than a technology decision.

IBM to make computer human brain, End of World Approaching

Well seriously,

robot.jpgWe've covered all the robotic advances that have been coming up. We have embedded, bionic, autonomous, swarm networked, recently they have self replicating robots.

Now we're going to give em brains. IBM is now devoting a supercomputing cluster to simulate a human brain.

Is IBM basically trying to end the world? Has nobody at IBM ever watched any movies?

Time to buy robot insurance

Kid Hacks Calculator, Forces Recall

hackedcalc.jpg

Looks like Dakota Brown from a Richmond suburb in Virginia found that by pressing two buttons at the same time, he could get his state crippled TI calculator to compute fractions from decimals.

The state had ordered this function crippled for calculators for middle school students.

Here's an statement from a school official:
"His fellow students were so proud of him and congratulatory. They thought it was really, really cool. They didn't call him a nerd or anything," said Michael Bolling, a school official in Chesterfield County.
