Mel's Movie makes a few bucks.
Hollywood studios were proven wrong when they ALL passed on Mel's Gibson's Passion Movie which this weekend made 76.2 million dollars and grossed 107 million total in the first five days. The movie is great (granted im a hardcore evangelical and plannning on being a pastor someday.) The odd thing is many churches are buying entire showings of this thing within the next couple of weeks and will continue to push its total even higher. How high will it go? nobody knows.

This film is going to be a great success in America and internationally. Then come the DVD sales. Chances are, if you've ever called yourself a Christian, you will have seen this movie in the theater and/or own it on DVD. A great percentage of Americans consider themselves to be Christian. Contrast that with the number of Hollywood execs that aren't. You see why Hollywood isn't liking Mel Gibson right now. It'll be interesting to see what his future projects are like.
