Third Rock from the Sun

Scientists saw an asteroid heading towards earth. Based off of four pictures, some of them thought that an asteroid would hit earth within 36 hours. Cue the tense movie music, close shots of sweaty astronomers surrounding computer simulations of crashing down on farmers in Beloit, Wisconsin. Scientists call their families and tell them to go to Colorado. Then they ask themselves, "Do we contact the President?" Do we try and block this thing?Enter the amateur astronomer. He takes a picture of the sky. The scientists review it. Tension as the final calculations are made. They call off the threat. Laughs all around. Earth is safe once again, or is it?
